With the advancement of scouting and defensive tactics, coaches have had to adapt their offense to continue to be successful. It’s very challenging today to throw any X’s and O’s at an opposing coach that they have not faced before. One one to counter the opposing team’s advanced scouting is to layer your offense and use “false actions”.

False Action – any action that distracts the defense or moves the defense into a position that is beneficial to the offense.
