Communication needs to occur from everyone on the court but at the forward position you see everything so it’s PIVOTAL for success. On the defensive end, generally speaking, you are standing behind everyone. You have the ability to see cuts and screens before they occur. You are able to tell your teammates what adjustments to make without them having to figure it out on their own. This will help reduce the likelihood of the offense getting easy baskets and could potentially reduce the risk of injury through hard contact on impacting screens.
