Switching in pick and roll scenarios has become increasingly popular in the game of basketball. It allows defenders to get past a screen without having to fight through it or tempt the offense to shoot by going under. There are a variety of ways to attack switching, in this video we talk about the “boomerang”.

Boomerang – when the ball handler passes the ball out of a PNR and immediately receives a pass back.

The boomerang gives the ball handler an athleticism advantage since they will run through the pass they are receiving and the defender is typically standing still or back pedaling.
