There are six levels of scoring in the game of basketball:
– Level 1: At the Rim *covered today*
– Level 2: Touch Shots and Floaters
– Level 3: Midrange Jumpers
– Level 4: Traditional Three’s
– Level 5: Deep Three’s
– Level 6: Free Throw Line

The three main types of finishing around the rim are:
1. Underhand Finishes
2. Sidehand Finishes
3. Overhand Finishes
Drill #1: Underhand | Finger Roll Finishes
Goal: Make (10) Right and (10) Left handed finger roll’s
– Start in a staggerd stance
– Keep your hand under the basketball and extend your elbow straight
– Focus on getting your feel and touch down
Drill #2: Sidehand | Opposite Wrist Turns
Goal: Make (10) Right and (10) Left sidehand opposite wrist turns
– Start with your back to the baseline
– Keep your arm extended out
– Focus on getting your feel and touch down
Drill #3: Overhand | Shot and Open Palm
Goal: Make (10) Right and (10) Left overhand shot’s and open palm shots
– Alternate between a one handed shot and an open palm shot
– Focus on getting your feel and touch down
Goal: Make (10) Right and (10) Left hand lay-ups
– The focus for this drill is the PICK UP
– Start just outside of the paint on the baseline
– Get into a drop and take one dribble
– Pick up the ball with one hand and finish on either foot
Goal: Make (10) Right and (10) Left same foot same hand lay-ups
– Start at the elbow area with your shoulders facing the midline
– Rep #1: Dribble, open drop, push cross, same foot same hand finish
– Rep #2: Dribble, open drop, split thru, same foot same hand finish
Goal Make (2) of each finish on each side of the basket
– The focus is picking up on the OUTSIDE FOOT
– Start around the free throw line area
– Get into thru and then…
– Finish #1: Same foot same hand
– Finish #2: Veer finish
– Finish #3: Euro step finish
Goal
Finish with strong hand in less than 20 seconds
Finish with weak hand in less than 21 seconds
Procedure
– Start at the block
– Dribble around the corner cone and Veer finish
– Dribble around the wing cone and Veer finish
– Dribble around the wing cone and Veer finish
– Dribble around the corner cone and Veer finish
